Environmental, Social, and Governance

A Commitment to Doing the Right Thing
At Switch Direction, our mission goes beyond delivering high‑quality training and consultancy.
We believe every organisation has a responsibility to contribute positively to the world around them.
Our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments are woven into everything we do — from how we operate as a business to how we support our community.
ESG isn’t a box‑ticking exercise for us — it’s the foundation of how Switch Direction builds relationships, delivers value, and shapes a positive future. We’re continuously exploring new ways to grow our contribution and deepen our impact across the community.
Social Impact
Building strong, positive relationships within our community is a core part of who we are
Supporting Local Primary EducationÂ
Â
Supporting Careers & Enterprise
We are committed to helping young people prepare for the world of work through our involvement with the Careers & Enterprise Company as an Enterprise Advisor.
This role allows us to work directly with local secondary and high schools, supporting careers events and providing practical guidance to students. From offering career pathway insights to helping with CV writing, mock interviews, and employability skills, we play an active part in inspiring and equipping young people for their future.
Our hands‑on support helps bridge the gap between education and employment, ensuring students feel confident and prepared for the next steps in their journey.
Championing the Arts
Our commitment to the local arts community is driven not only by corporate responsibility but also by personal passion. Our Director, Dan Cocksedge, serves as the Chair of Trustees for the Co‑op Juniors Theatre Company, a role he has proudly held for several years.
In this position, Dan helps guide the organisation’s strategic direction, supports the development of its people, and champions its mission to create accessible, high‑quality performance opportunities for young people across Suffolk.
Beyond governance, Dan also volunteers hands‑on as part of the crew for productions staged at iconic local venues including the New Wolsey Theatre, Seckford Theatre, and Snape Maltings Concert Hall.
This blend of leadership, mentorship, and practical support reflects our belief in making a long‑term, personal contribution to the creative fabric of our community.
Backing Local Sport
Switch Direction sponsors and supports Ipswich Valley Rangers, a local football team that champions inclusivity, teamwork, and youth development.
By contributing to grassroots sport, we help create opportunities for young people to grow in confidence, build friendships, and stay active.

Environmental Responsibility
We are committed to minimising our environmental impact and making sustainable choices wherever possible. From reducing waste and paper usage to prioritising energy‑efficient operations and digital‑first learning resources, we continuously look for ways to operate more responsibly.
We also work with clients to foster sustainable behaviours through our training and development programmes, helping organisations embed environmentally conscious practices into their culture.
