The course describes organisational culture, its characteristics and its impact on an organisation’s success, including how it manifests itself, with examples provided. Four different types of organisational culture are explored, with their significant characteristics and impacts.


How is an organisation’s culture developed or decided – what are the factors that decide its future direction? The course explores what problems can stem from the organisation’s culture and the difference between organisational and team culture.


The course discusses whether culture can be changed with a case study and how this could impact on the success of the organisation.


Outcomes

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of organisational culture
  • Recognise the different cultures that exist in organisations
  • Explain how different types of culture can affect individuals and teams in different ways
  • Identify internal and external factors which can affect an organisation’s culture
