Engaging Careers Activities at your School
Helping young people find there way. Collaborating with schools to create exciting and motivating sessions, giving career-advice through our careers service and a focus on transferable skills including communication, team work, Personality Profiling and aptitude testing.

CV Writing and Mock Interviews
As government guidance outlines, all schools must provide encounters with a provider of technical education or apprenticeships for students in Years 8 to 13. We are able to support this through CV writing advice and holding mock interview session.

Helping to Find Work Placements
Although not a guarantee, we can help support school find work placements. Giving young people the opportunity time in real life workplaces, helping them to engage outside of school and focus on embedding behaviours.
What’s Involved?
Below is an outline of three possible days, each covering a different aspect of careers. A choice of one, two or three days can be booked in relation to the areas the schools may feel they need support, when administering their Gatsby Benchmarks. Those students who would like to take part will expect something like the below:-
Day 1
Introductions and Welcome

Activity 1 – Communication, Active Listening and Team Working
Focus Session on CV Planning
Activity 2 – Personality Profiling
CV and Covering Letter Writing Session (PC’s required)
Activity 3 – Summary of the Day provided by the Students

Activity 2 – Building Rapport and Social Interaction

Planning
Activity 3 – Building your own Business
Day 3
Welcome Back
Activity 1 – What to expect when with an employer
A focus on work placements
Activity 2 – Building your own Business Recap/Group Presentations
Personality Profiling linked to Work Suggestions
Activity 3 – Summary and Take Away Points provided by the Students
The above is open to suggestion and can be created inline with the high school career objectives and not all three days need to be booked.
In order to ensure cross curricular learning, we can also encourage core subjects to be linked with employment activities. So for example, the Building your own Business element can also be linked into Business Studies, English, Maths amongst other subjects.
